The delivery of orders is one of the most critical and challenging process of a distribution or a delivery company. LaceUp’s Route Management software was designed to minimize inefficiencies that can significantly affect delivery costs and decrease your profits. With Laceup’s Route Management you can optimize the delivery routes to minimize drive time and truck expenses. Furthermore, you can modify the invoice to reflect items rejected by the store and capture credits due to damaged or returned goods. When done, the driver can capture the customer’s signature and print the final invoice wirelessly using a thermal printer. Lastly, during the route you can track the inventory in the trucks and monitor the driver’s time in each store.
With LaceUp’s Route Management software you can optimize routes based on proximity, traffic, receiving hours of your customers, and truck capacity. By optimizing the time and accuracy to load the trucks and the time the drivers spend driving, you will reduce labor costs, consumption of gas, and the probability of accidents. In short you will increase the profitability of your business while gaining complete traceability and visibility of the routes.
In the distribution industry it is common for trucks to return at the end of each day with returns and credits. Some of the returning product is refused by the customer and is going to go back into inventory, and other product is returned because it got damaged in transit or expired at the store. With LaceUp’s Route Management software, the driver handheld will track what product is coming back and give warehouse personnel the ability to classify the product in one of three ways: damaged in truck, dump, or good return that will go back into its picking bin. The system will print out a corresponding inventory settlement report that will record these returns over time.
LaceUp’s Route Management software lets your driver view all deliveries assigned for the day, collect signatures, collect payment, and print the final invoice wirelessly. Once the driver has documented any product refusals, they can ask the receiver to sign on the device in acceptance of the order. The driver can even capture an image of the physical invoice or customer receiving area for added proof of delivery. This data will transmit digitally to the back office where the team can pull up signed PDF copies of the invoices and images whenever needed.
In addition to being able to refuse individual line items on a delivery, the driver can mark an entire delivery as refused. This happens when the customer is unable to receive the product for reasons out of the control of the driver. When this happens, the driver will be prompted with a selectable list of reasons that were pre-programmed by the back office. All reasons selected by the driver will be reported to the back office for full traceability of each order. Upon refusing the order and selecting a reason, the inventory will be automatically returned to the truck and the order will be available for rescheduling in the back office. This was designed in the Route Management system to improve the efficiency with which an order is tracked and placed back on the truck for a future delivery date.
