DEX EDI

DEX EDI is a type of Software used in the Direct Store Delivery Industry that enables delivery drivers to enter invoice information into a retailer’s computer system at the back door receiving area. It is a standard designed for the grocery industry, and is often required when distributing to larger grocery retailers. LaceUp now lets you do DEX for the first time using any Android device, a DEX cable, and LaceUp’s route accounting software.

How Does DEX EDI Work?

As your direct store delivery drivers are making deliveries, they can electronically transfer invoice data to the store’s computer. This is done using an Android device with a DEX cable. The delivery driver takes the DEX cable, plugs one end into the retailer’s DEX port and the other into the Android. With two taps, all invoice data is electronically interchanged with the retailer. This makes it so the receiver no longer has to key in time consuming and error prone UPC codes and quantities into the retailer’s computer.
